Trip overview
Nepal Trekking During Monsoon Season
During the monsoon season, trekking is only possible in one part of Nepal, Upper Mustang, which is never affecte by monsoon rain. The cost of the Upper Mustang trek is higher than Manaslu Circuit Trek because the permit fee per person is US$ 500 only for the special permit. Trekking in the Upper Mustang region of Nepal is a very rewarding experience for those who want to experience the hospitality of the people living in this remote region.
A trip to the Mustang region is a very rewarding one for anyone who wants to experience the hospitality of the people living in this remote part of the country. Since 1991, the Department of Immigration has only issued a small number of special permits. There is ample scope for visiting Buddhist monasteries at this idyllic destination.
The trek to Lo Manthang entails almost no trees and steep rocky paths up and downhill. Moreover, the panoramic view of Nilgiri, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and several other peaks makes it a memorable trek. This trek requires a liaison officer. There are three options for starting this trek: Jomsom – accessible by air, Pokhara accessible by road, or Besisahar – accessible by road (if starting from Besisahar includes the Annapurna Circuit as well).
