Salary Cost for Trekking Crew Member
1. Registered Manaslu trek Guide costs US$ 30 per day, including his meals, accommodations, equipment, salary, and insurance,
2. Strong porter Costs US$ 22 per day, including his meals, accommodations, equipment, salary, and insurance.
3. Manaslu special Trekking Permit– From Sept. to Nov: cost US$ 100 per week. And after 7 days per day per person US $ 15, From Dec. to Aug: US$ 75 per week, and after 7 days per day per person US $ 10.
4. TIMS card Permit costs US$ 20 per person but it is no longer in use. Therefore, you don’t need to purchase this permit for the Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal.
5. Annapurna conservation entrance Permit cost (ACAP) is NRs. 3000 to foreigners and NRs. 1000 to SAARC nationals.
6. Manaslu Conservation entrance permit cost (MCAP) is NRs. 3000 to foreigners and NRs. 1000 to SAARC nationals.
7. Nowadays, you must get the local permit. It is the Tsum Nubri Rural Municipality Entry Permit that costs NRs. 1000.
Please note down that cost of the trekking guide’s salary and porter’s salary may be fixed but not the tips. Normally, tipping is not compulsory in Nepal. However, it is customarily compulsory. These trekking crew members mainly work during peak trekking seasons. Only 6 months out of 12 months are peak times for Nepal Trekking. During this short peak trekking season window, a trekking guide or a porter works 3 to 4 times only depending upon their luck. Therefore, they expect tips.
General tips start from 80 $ to a porter and 120 $ to a trekking guide. Beyond this standard ceiling for tips, it is your personal choice. You can choose to tip your trekking crew members according to their service standards.
