Annapurna Sanctuary Trek – 5 Days

The classic Annapurna Sanctuary Trek 5 days (also called Annapurna Base Camp Trek – ABC) usually takes 7 – 10 days, but it can be shortened to 5 days if you have limited time and are okay with long trekking hours each day. A 5-day version usually starts and ends at Pokhara. This 5 Days trek takes you deep into the heart of the Annapurna massif, leading to a spectacular natural amphitheater surrounded by towering snow-capped peaks. It is an ideal journey for trekkers seeking both adventure and serenity within a relatively short duration.

The trek usually begins from the bustling city of Pokhara, often referred to as the gateway to the Annapurna region. From here, a short drive leads to the starting point of the trail, where lush green valleys, terraced fields, and charming Gurung and Magar villages set the stage for the adventure ahead. The lower sections of the trek pass through subtropical forests filled with rhododendron, oak, and bamboo, making the walk a delightful experience, especially during spring when the hills burst into vibrant colors.

MBC and ABC  Both Base camp within 5 days

The route passes through popular stops like Chhomrong, Dovan, and Deurali before finally opening up into the stunning Annapurna Sanctuary. Reaching Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters is a moment of triumph, offering panoramic views that leave trekkers awe-struck and humbled by the grandeur of nature.

One of the unique aspects of the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is its cultural richness. Along the way, trekkers interact with the local Gurung and Magar communities, experiencing their warm hospitality, traditional lifestyles, and rich heritage. Tea houses along the trail provide comfortable accommodations and hearty meals, making the trek more accessible compared to camping-style expeditions. The friendly atmosphere of these mountain lodges adds to the overall charm of the journey.
