Dhampus Peak Climbing – 20 Days Outline Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m)
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, where our representative will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy a trip briefing and prepare for your upcoming Dhampus Peak Climbing adventure. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Full-Day Kathmandu Sightseeing
Explore Kathmandu's UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Complete final climbing permit formalities and equipment checks. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (822m)
Enjoy a scenic 6–7 hour tourist bus journey along the Trishuli and Marsyangdi Rivers to the beautiful lakeside city of Pokhara. Relax and enjoy views of the Annapurna range. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 04: Drive to Nayapul and Trek to Tikhedhunga (1,540m)
After breakfast, drive to Nayapul and begin trekking through picturesque villages, terraced farmlands, and riverside trails before reaching Tikhedhunga. Overnight at a teahouse.
Day 05: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,874m)
Climb the famous Ulleri stone staircase before entering beautiful rhododendron and oak forests. Reach the popular mountain village of Ghorepani with spectacular Himalayan views. Overnight at a teahouse.
Day 06: Hike to Poon Hill (3,210m) and Trek to Tatopani (1,190m)
Start early with a sunrise hike to Poon Hill for panoramic views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, and Nilgiri. Descend and continue trekking to the natural hot springs at Tatopani. Overnight at a teahouse.
Day 07: Trek from Tatopani to Ghasa (2,010m)
Follow the Kali Gandaki Gorge through waterfalls, forests, and charming villages before arriving at Ghasa, the gateway to the upper Mustang region. Overnight at a teahouse.
Day 08: Trek from Ghasa to Larjung (2,560m)
Continue trekking through pine forests and traditional Thakali villages with stunning mountain scenery. Reach the peaceful village of Larjung for an overnight stay.
Day 09: Trek from Larjung to Marpha (2,670m)
Walk through apple orchards and traditional settlements before arriving at the beautiful whitewashed village of Marpha, famous for its apple products and rich Thakali culture. Overnight at a teahouse.
Day 10: Trek from Marpha to Yak Kharka (3,680m)
Leave the villages behind and gradually ascend into alpine terrain with incredible views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and Tukuche Peak. Overnight at Yak Kharka.
Day 11: Trek from Yak Kharka to Dhampus Peak Base Camp (4,750m)
Today's trail climbs steadily across alpine meadows and rocky landscapes to reach Dhampus Peak Base Camp. Enjoy stunning mountain views and prepare for the climbing section. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 12: Trek to High Camp (5,300m)
Ascend to High Camp while gaining valuable acclimatization. Your climbing guide will provide a basic training session covering the use of crampons, ice axe, harness, and rope techniques. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 13: Summit Dhampus Peak (6,012m) and Return to Base Camp
Begin the summit push before dawn. Reach the summit of Dhampus Peak and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After celebrating your achievement, descend safely back to Base Camp. Overnight at tented camp.
Day 14: Acclimatization and Rest Day at Base Camp
Reserve this day for rest, acclimatization, or as a contingency day in case of unfavorable weather. Overnight at Base Camp.
Day 15: Trek from Dhampus Base Camp to Yak Kharka
Descend through alpine landscapes back to Yak Kharka while enjoying magnificent mountain scenery. Overnight at a teahouse or camp.
Day 16: Trek from Yak Kharka to Marpha
Retrace your route through beautiful valleys and traditional settlements before reaching Marpha. Spend the evening exploring the charming village. Overnight at a teahouse.
Day 17: Trek from Marpha to Jomsom (2,720m)
Enjoy a short and pleasant trek along the Kali Gandaki Valley to Jomsom, the administrative center of Mustang. Explore the local market and relax before your flight. Overnight at a hotel.
Day 18: Fly from Jomsom to Pokhara
Take an early morning scenic mountain flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, offering spectacular aerial views of the Himalayas. Spend the rest of the day exploring Lakeside Pokhara or relaxing. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 19: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu
Return to Kathmandu by tourist bus, enjoying scenic views of rivers, hills, and rural Nepal along the way. In the evening, enjoy free time for shopping or celebrating the successful expedition. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 20: Final Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight. Depart Nepal with unforgettable memories of your successful Dhampus Peak Climbing adventure.
